What to Include
- A concise explanation of your reason for contacting CVB.
- The relevant article URL, event, location or date.
- The action or response you are requesting.
- Supporting links or documents, where relevant and safe to share.
- A safe way to contact you and any genuine deadline.
For professional enquiries, please identify your organization and role where applicable. For sensitive matters, you may initially use a pseudonym or limit identifying details. Anonymous information may be considered, although limited verification or inability to follow up may affect how it can be used.
Corrections, Complaints and Responses
To report an error, identify the exact statement or material, explain the concern and provide supporting evidence if available. A person or organization mentioned in a publication may also submit a relevant response.
Requests are assessed according to their substance and evidence. Criticism of CVB or disagreement with an editorial position does not disqualify a complaint from consideration. See our Corrections Policy for the review process.
Privacy concerns should identify the affected content and explain the risk or requested change. Please avoid repeating sensitive personal details unnecessarily.
Human Rights Information and Sensitive Submissions
If you wish to share information about an alleged violation, begin with a brief account of what happened, when and where, how you know, and whether anyone faces an immediate risk. Distinguish firsthand knowledge from information received from others.
Do not send passwords, full identity documents, private addresses, medical records or identifying details about children and vulnerable people unless their relevance and an appropriate method of sharing have first been discussed.
If confidentiality is important, state that before sharing identifying material. Do not assume that a confidentiality arrangement exists solely because you have sent a message. Ordinary email and messaging services cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality or anonymity.
A private message is not automatic permission to publish your identity or complete correspondence. Any editorial use must consider verification, context, confidentiality expectations and potential harm.
Contacting CVB does not establish legal representation, acceptance of a case, or a promise of investigation or intervention. CVB is not an emergency-response service, and messages may not be read immediately. For immediate danger, seek appropriate local assistance through a channel safe for your circumstances.
Media and Collaboration Requests
For interviews or commentary, include your outlet, subject, intended format, publication deadline and proposed timing. Please specify the time zone for appointments.
For research or collaboration, describe the purpose, proposed participants, expected contribution, funding arrangements and any relevant institutional or personal interests.
Correspondence does not itself establish a partnership, endorsement or permission to use CVB’s name, logo or the editor’s identity in promotional material. Such arrangements require express agreement.
Contributions and Publication Requests
Contributors should explain the originality of their work, identify sources, disclose relevant interests and indicate whether it has been published or submitted elsewhere.
Submission does not guarantee acceptance, publication, payment or a particular publication date. Any publication arrangement should clarify attribution, editing and permission to use the material.
Response Expectations and Respectful Communication
CVB is independently operated with limited capacity. We aim to review relevant messages and respond where appropriate, but cannot guarantee an immediate reply or a response to every submission.
If following up, reply within the original email thread and include any new information. A stated deadline helps us assess urgency but does not guarantee availability.
Respectful criticism and good-faith complaints are welcome. Spam, impersonation, threats, targeted harassment and repeated abusive messages may be filtered, restricted or left unanswered.
Privacy and Public Comments
Correspondence may be handled to respond to your enquiry, assess submitted information, verify editorial matters, address misuse and maintain appropriate records. Relevant service providers also process communications under their own policies.
Public comments are not a private reporting channel. Please do not post confidential allegations or another person’s sensitive information in a comment. For further details, read our Privacy Policy.
Website and Social Profiles
For formal enquiries, corrections or sensitive matters, use the contact details on this page rather than relying solely on social-media comments or direct messages.
